Since the end of Feb. Now it's April 22........... no filter............ just 3 shungites. Water has not been changed, the fish is very happy.Speaking of Honey Bees.....
Cosmic Reality Shungite
I'm not sure how I discovered this, but I'm grateful that I did..... check them out on you tube. The pics I posted were lillies from before Easter with 3 shungite nuggets in the water. I have not changed the water and look at the condition of the bouquet ! If you have fresh flowers in a vase you know that you can't go 2 wks without changing the water, not even really 2 days. This is what shungite does to water. I also bought the stickers for our phones.
The fish tank has no filter, only 3 shungite nuggets, and it's way over a month that the water has not been changed and the fish is very happy.
My reference to the bees....... check out the honey bees with shungite powder. Something every bee keeper should know. I'm actually considering becoming a bee keeper myself with this new discovery of mine and the physical proof of how amazing it is.
Old blog, new content
This is the 13th year of my blog, and I'm going to give it a complete overhaul. There were many pages of old posts which I'll condense, keeping only what I consider to be my favorites. I left up the plight of the honey bees because I'm passionate about such issues. I believe that in New Jersey both Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bonjovi have honey bee farms. Good for them. ; )
I encourage you to plant moonflowers, though these took two yrs to bloom, they are spectacular, especially combined with solar fairy lights because the blooms only open at night so it's a magical combination.

The last time we went to the opera, we were a few min late and they would not let us in until the second act........... once again we were barely making it and decided to jump into a cab to make sure we wouldn't be kept out of the first act again.......... I'm so incredibly glad we did that and got to share in this along with every other singer and attendee.

You know I love to photograph and post heart shapes found in unusual and unexpected places. In my pack of huge stuffing mushrooms, there was this heart. 
Butterfly
this was a pleasant surprise i found while i was groaning over why my petunias were not blooming, they had been so magnificent. can't believe that leaves are already beginning to fall.
i watched as it fluttered away,that was another treat.... to watch those huge wings softly flutter off into the next yard.

check it out ! we planted these among the veggies so i could paint them.......soooooo beautiful.
the eggplants are also so beautiful, they look like hanging chandeliers or earings..... i'll have to take some pics of them as well.

I've been a little lazy for taking and posting pictures of my paintings, but this amazing tomato forced my camera into action. How adorable is this ? I feel like I find the heart shape in so many unusual things, and for those who believe in such things.......... it's no coincidence.

(I've been painting hearts, but cannot find the wire that takes the photos from the camera to the computer. Unfortunately, I'm quite unorganized.)
Happy New Year
My precious company from the past ten days has gone now, and it's time to turn the guest bed back into a horizontal surface for my oversize painting papers, foam boards, supports etc. It's time to enjoy the Christmas lights for the last time, and replace the cookie cutters with the juicer. The distractions of the beautiful Christmas season are over and I'm starting to recognize the familiar signs of that slippery slope of the January slump. If I don't fight it, I'll end up spending the entire month wondering when I'm going to start painting again, and when I'm going back to the gym.
Hopefully.............. I'll be posting a painting tomorrow, and the next day, and the next. I'm wondering if posting this to my blog will do for me what it did two years ago when I started it......accountability and establishing a routine. Self discipline is not one of my strong points.

Plymouth Rock...........very cool
LOVED that trip. i LOVE places chocked full with history, and you don't get better than this in America. It was actually in Dec when they arrived, I can't imagine how they stayed warm. brrr it was cold there today, even my wool beret didn't keep out the cold, but flat Stanley was an excellent 'model'.
As far as inspiration for a painting, it's so incredibly funny how (for me at least) inspiration always seems to come from the strangest places, rarely where you would expect.........like this trip, as fantastic as Plymouth was, there was nothing that inspired me to do a painting. Maybe on some level I knew it would not happen because on the way I saw my inspiration on the highway. A huge flatbed truck filled with colorful lobster traps........yellow, green, and orange. I felt that 'hit' of desire to record what I was seeing in paint with whatever interpretation would come at the time. and that was that.

had to photograph on angle, paint is not completely dry and causes glare.
Tripod... a tool worth using for better pics
I'm constantly trying to improve my camera skills so I can post better pics to the websites I sell on. Setting up an area with the tripod, and using NO flash have made a huge difference. Right up there with the day I learned to 'crop' out the background.
I have a new Sony digital camera, which takes amazing close ups but I haven't taken the time to study the user booklet. I'm just so comfortable with my old Nikon. Here's a shot of a Rose of Sharon with the 'micro'.
Scroll down to the Degas ballerina ATC;s and see the diff with the zoom with and without the tripod. If you need to take good pics for posting, you need to do it with a tripod.
